Multidomo Terminal Setup

Terminal Types

Multidomo Mobile runs on most today cell phones, both those based on Windows Mobile and Symbian OS (Nokia and others).

It can also run on Windows Mobile PDAs (HP iPAQ and others Pocket PC) who have WI-FI but do not have telephony.

There are 3 types of Multidomo Mobile applications, you may install which best fits your device.

PocketPC style For PDAs and Smartphones with Windows and touch screen. It can be handled with the fingers.

Smartphone style For Smartphones with Windows and without touch screen.

Generic Java Application For others cell phones that support Java applications such as Nokia, Sony-Ericsson, Motorola, etc.

Requirements
• A mobile phone or PDA with Internet browser
• Internet connectivity, preferably 3G or WiFi, GPRS minimum

(*) Terminals with Windows Mobile prior to version 6.0 will need to have installed Microsoft .Net Compact Framework 2.0 SP2
Download Microsoft .Net Compact Framework 2.0 SP2 from Microsoft

Installation
1. From the terminal navigate with the browser to www.multidomo.com

2. Choose the type of terminal to be installed. It will detect your operating system.

3. Download and open the application file. Depending on the Internet connection type this may last a few minutes.

4. Follow the installation instructions that might occur.

Setup
1. Go to Programs and look for Multidomo icon, and start the application

2. The first time you run Multidomo in the terminal, it is necessary to register the terminal.

Enter your user name and password. To enter Demo House: user=demo2 password=12345678. (dot included)

3. Keep checked the "Remember me" option, so that the next run you will not have to authenticate again.

4. Press OK

5. Enter the name of the terminal. This name will identify this terminal from others who registered in your home. For Demo House enter your name.

6. Press OK

7. The terminal warn that there is no Home Database, press "Yes" to download the database.

8. You get the main menu Multidomo

9. At this point Multidomo Mobile Terminal is installed and running.

What can I do with Multidomo?

What to do and control depends hugely on the user creativity and the number of controlled appliances that have been automated. Basic functions to be set up are:

• Displaying IP video cameras
• Controlling music, activating playlists, modifying volume
• Switching on and off electrical devices
• Electrical devices intensity control, such as lighting, blinds and shutters
• Reaction to events occurring on any installed sensor, following the predetermined actions given by the user
• Actions programming thru a timer
• Email & SMS alerts
• Definition of preconfigured atmospheres or scenes
• HVAC control

These basic functions will allow you program your home as widely as you wish.

What is it?

Multidomo is a software service which allows the user to control and manage the digital home from any terminal accessing the Internet, such as computers, laptops, Ultra Mobile PC, Smartphone’s, PDA’s, Windows Media Center, and so on.

We can distinguish three main areas within the concept of digital home:
1. Entertainment: Related to video, movies, games, pictures and music
2. Home automation: Control and security, as well as lighting, doors, shutters, alarms and sensors
3. Surveillance: Home cameras for watching and recording

Multidomo gives answer to any software needs while integrates and complements with Windows Media Center for the entertainment and surveillance areas, fulfilling this way the digital home.

At Multidomo we believe that the home computer is the only device able to control all these areas in a coordinated manner, and we consider that software is the most economical and flexible way to manage any of these features and the future ones.
